"Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."                 Romans 5:3-5

Mission Statement

Helping others find hope in God's love

Keith and Heather Green with their five children; Sarah, Brandon, Taylor, Logan & Zoe (left to right)

Welcome!

Gods Love Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of people in the community by showing them how to find hope in God’s love. God’s love is expressed every day through the acts of those around us, or in nature; the sunrise, sunsets, our children or even by a random stranger, yet we are too busy in our daily lives to recognize it. GLF is designed to encourage people to be a witness to that love and illustrate it themselves through their actions.

In 2016, Keith was diagnosed with a  stage 4 mediastinal tumor which was inoperable and incurable.  In that moment, they began to recognize life’s simple pleasures and the acts of others as God’s love. Recognizing moments that God was illustrating His love provided hope in times others would consider dark and desperate.

Click here to read Keith's story on battling cancer five times, and other life changing events that has brought him to where he is today.

God’s Love Foundation has a desire to share life experiences with the community in an effort to encourage others to see life from a renewed faith based perspective. Public speaking programs are available for community events, churches, schools, corporations and other organizations who wish to encourage their groups to have a more intentional perspective of their lives and the impact they can have on the lives of those around them.

Give hope... be a beacon of God’s love. Share your story of God’s love on our blog.

Board of Directors

Keith Green

Chairman

Keith is a man of God who through many storms of life, has chosen to see the love and hope and good in the world.  He is currently battling cancer for the fifth time and is the epitome of hope throughout the medical community.  While his fight for a cure of cancer is great, his fight for the lost, those without hope, and those who have never embraced the love of Christ is even greater.

Keith is a loving, devoted husband.  In the three short years he has been married to Heather, he has fought four of the five battles with cancer.  Together, they are raising their combined five children while running a business.   Keith is a former Chairman of the local Chamber of Commerce and has been a local business leader in the area for over a decade.  He is a two-time Five Star Award winner, was recognized as a top adviser in the Hour of Detroit magazine, was featured in On The Town magazine, and most recently recognized in the June 2018 issue of Forbes magazine.

Keith Green is a 30 year veteran of the financial industry with public speaking experience to corporate employees, community events and schools. His 5 time cancer battle has lead to a new perspective on life. One day he would like to say he is a “cancer survivor,” but that day hasn’t come yet. His message is delivered with enthusiasm, real life experiences and an emphasis on faith.

"Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."   1 John 4:8

Heather Green

Founder & Treasurer

Heather has faced many challenges in life from being raised by a single mom, growing up on government assistance programs, having an alcoholic father, being a teen mom herself and balancing work and school while raising a family.  Over thirteen years, her hard work and dedication finally paid off when she earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting.  While graduating from college is a great accomplishment, she credits her life experiences and her love for the Lord to who she is today.

Heather is a mother of five, three of her own and two she inherited when she married Keith in 2015.  Heather is an incredible wife and caregiver to Keith, business partner in the family financial business and so much more. Her activities and responsibilities on any given day are insurmountable, and she somehow never let’s anyone down. What makes Heather stand out is her unconditional love for so many and her desire to help others. You will find Heather at every kid's sporting events, classroom parties helping the teachers, baking cookies and volunteering for anything she can find time for. It seems a natural extension of her character to be the founder of God’s Love Foundation.  After experiencing the love of the community that continuously and graciously supported her family over the past 2 ½ years as her husband has continued to battle cancer, she hopes to inspire and give back to others in their time of need.

Heather starts every day in prayer and gives all Glory to God for the strength she has to carry out her day. People often ask how she can be so positive in the face of adversity and an extremely busy schedule, her answer is “it’s not me, it’s the Holy Spirit.”  Her faith drives her to live in God’s word as she finds comfort and peace in the Gospel. She now desires to share her faith with the community in an effort to help them find strength, comfort and peace in whatever adversity they may be facing.

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;  but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."   Proverbs 31:30

"A wife of noble character who can find?  She is worth far more than rubies....She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy."  Proverbs 31: 10, 20

SCOTT SUTTER

Vice Chairman

Scott has been in Law Enforcement for 32 years. After 23 years of service, he retired from the Flint Police Department as a captain and is now currently the Chief of Police for the Linden Police Department. He serves on many boards related to Law Enforcement and to the community.

Scott has been married to his wonderful wife, Tonya, for 32 years. He also has a beautiful 13 year old daughter, Tabitha, and a handsome 17 year old son, Seth.

He was saved in his late 20’s but God was knocking on his door at a very early age by sending‘’Good Samaritan’s’’ into his life. By watching his mother live her faith each and every day, having a very patient wife who was saved at very early age in life, and by sending Christian mentors into his life, Scott began to understand that Jesus had been knocking on his door for a longtime and all he had to do was open it.

"I am a sinner saved by the grace of a mighty, merciful and loving God." Scott Sutter

"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."  2 Corinthians 4:18

Deb was born and raised in Missouri married Paul and ended up in Michigan.

She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior when she was in high school and has depended on her faith in God and His love through her many seasons of life. God continues to teach her the value of letting go, standing strong in her faith and trust in the hope and grace that rises from life’s messiness.

Forty two years ago, Deb’s son Ben was born, he became very sick and Deb was looking for some reassurance that everything would be ok. When reading her bible, God revealed Romans 5: 1-5, this passage continues to give her strength, perseverance, hope and encouragement. God is good.

Phil Quasarano

Community Coordinator

Phil recently retired from the computer industry and is now serving in several ministries to include Grief Share, Bible Study Fellowship and of course the God’s Love Foundation.

Married 32 years to Laura, he is the father of Leonard, Jim and Nina. Leonard is married to Heather and they are parents to Luke, Brenden, Rachel and Grant.

In 2016 Leonard, Heather and all four children passed away in a carbon monoxide accident. The magnitude of this tragedy was devastating. However, God is faithful. His promise to us is if we stand on the Rock we will not be shaken, (Matthew 7:24-25). Phil has witnessed the fulfillment of this promise through the love, support and encouragement of those who love Jesus and are called to His purpose, (Romans 8:28). People the LORD sent into Phil’s life to do His good work (James 1:22).

Since then Phil and Laura have hosted the Grief Share program at the Rock Church in Fenton and he has spoken at several events on the topic of grief, faith and the Hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
